Sanaa The morning light filtered through the tree's, The Savannah was now at it's peak. Yet it seemed some of the younger lioness' were out hunting, As Sanaa lay sunning herself outside the dens.
Her glossy pelt glimmered with age and beauty, So much like the fallen Queen, Her eye's shone. Long leg's sprawled out from her body as she lay on her side, Eye's scanning the horizon. She could see the faint forms of cub's playing near the watering hole, Gazelle grazing off in the fields, a few lioness playing in the Savannah. Life was peaceful in the PrideLands.
The King himself was somewhere, Where in fact she had no clue. As King he had a right to keep to himself, His actions were no business of hers. The Queen, Ah the Queen herself had been wrapped up in her own affairs, With her cubs and such, she had to be busy. With a lazy yawn, her jaws opened wide, she slowly got to her paws. Long frame stretched out, Claws drew themselves across the rock, and then she quickly padded down the side of Pride Rock.
Once the soft blades of grass tickled the pads of her paws, she smiled. The breeze was warm, and sent the sweet scents into her nares, which she breathed in deeply. The warm touch of the wind ran across her frame, Leaves dancing in it's grasp, and she smiled softly to herself.
Ear's pricked at the sound of something approaching from her side, Soft emerald hue's turned to gaze at the approaching figure of..

With morning arriving, Nyarai did what she usually ended up doing at that time; sneaking off. She was still working up the courage to go on her first hunt, and to avoid any teasing from the other lionesses she was slinking away from Pride Rock. It was late enough in the morning, however, that somebody would probably end up going to the Water Hole, so she was forced to find somewhere else to hide out. Sadly, the Savannah was not well known for having a lot of hiding places. There was tall grass, some rock, and the occasional tree…and that’s it.
However, at least today was a good day to be wandering around the Pridelands. Warm breezes kept a nice balance between warm and cool that made everything just more pleasant. If she found a place to hang out, it would be a good time to relax a bit. But first, she had to navigate through the grass and find somewhere off the beaten path she could be alone.
As she made her way through the grass, however, Nyarai stepped on a twig and snapped it. She immediately fell to her stomach, hoping to be able to hide from anything that might have been able to here her. After waiting for a moment or so, she slowly rose to scan her surroundings. At first things looked rather clear, but eventually her eyes settled on another lioness…looking right at her. Nyarai started to retreat out of reactionary fear of being caught, but another glance at the figure calmed her down. This was a Pridelander, and one of the older lionesses at that. Her name was Sanaa, and she wasn’t going to harm her at all.
Still, Nyarai probably should have been hunting at that point, so her not doing so would raise suspicion. Quickly, Nyarai started to try and think of something to say to Sanaa to keep her occupied and not focused on that thought
”Uhm, good morning there Sanaa,” was all Nyarai came up with, and it was in a rather weak voice for that matter. Just another morning for her it seemed.

Sanaa nearly chuckled as the other popped it's head over the tall Savannah grass, and shrank back. It was almost a instant click, This was the kind yet shy Nyrarai. Softly the lioness smiled, watching as the other recognized her as well and spoke a greeting.
The other lioness was younger, and still waiting on her first hunt. A big step for any lioness, If you couldn't hunt as the rest you weren't like the rest. Though Sanaa had a greater kindness then most, sometimes it just took other's a bit longer to get the confidence they needed.
As the other's words quietly slipped through her auds, she smiled trying to ease the other's awkwardness "Good Morning Nyarai" her tone was soft as she spoke to her. No reason to be odd now was there, Sanaa could see in her eye's the flash of concern. Perhaps it was Nyarai that would be questioning her for not hunting, Though Sanaa normally didn't hunt while the other's did. Instead she'd wander to plains when the sun was just starting to set. It was a lot easier to hunt then, Well for her.
Casually the Lioness moved through the tall grass, The tall blades tickled her chest and her stomach as she moved. "What brings you out so early?" she questioned softly, though no hint of anger or spitefulness. Rather just making small talk. As Sanaa came to Nyarai's side, she flicked her tail against her shoulder as she passed "Come, Would you walk with me?" she asked softly, Pausing a bit in front of her before carrying on at a leisurely pace.

Sanaa may have been an older lion, but she was very calming lioness to be around. She had no sign of harming her, and so Nyarai recovered from her scare rather quickly. There was an expectation of being asked about hunting, but Sanaa always seemed to know what to say to calm someone down or keep them from getting upset. Deep down Nyarai knew her concerns were simple paranoia, but that was just her personality, and it didn’t seem like it was going to be changing anytime soon.
Nyarai was at least calm enough to not bolt away when Sanaa walked over to her and came beside her. The tail was slightly annoying, but when lions were together getting hit by someone else’s tail was a common occurrence. It was one of the few things that didn’t really set Nyarai running. Sanaa’s question, however, was more of that causation. The truth was her purpose was to get out here to avoid having to hunt. Knowing full well she couldn’t lie to save her life, Nyarai was about to spill it out when Sanaa asked her to take a walk with her.
”Oh, uhm, okay then. That’s fine with me…” she replied, a little confused, but that was about it.
She didn’t really know why Sanaa wanted to take a walk with her. Was there something she wanted to talk to her about? Was it going to be about her hunting, or lack of it? If that was the case, then maybe she should be the one to start it? Otherwise it was guaranteed that she would jolt off. Seeing as Sanaa was already moving ahead, Nyarai jogged a little before keeping stride off to Sanaa’s side.
”Anyway, I was kind of out here to, uhm, calm my nerves a little before going out for my first hunt…” Nyarai said, with her usual low and steady tone of voice.

Sanaa watched with great curiosity as Nyarai seemed preoccupied within her own thoughts. It was a natural occurrence, Sanaa was a bit to comfortable with everyone it seemed. As the younger lioness caught up and began walking at her side, Sanaa offered a warm smile. Nyarai was so shy and bashful in behavior, so Sanaa was attempting to calm the young lioness down.
You know, Relax a bit. Sanaa's ear's flicked slightly as she spoke, She had yet to go on her first hunt hmm? Once again, it was a natural thing to be scared, nervous and beyond anything frightened. The Pride depended on you to hunt, The Cubs depended on the hunt. Without it, the pride would eventually die off...or become more like those outlander's out there.
Sanaa didn't scoff, nor act in a aggravated manner, simply she smiled. Emerald hue's stared off into the distance of the Savannah, as the sun beat down upon her golden hide, warming her to the very bone. "Are you afraid of failure? Or perhaps the hunt itself?" she asked softly, letting her gaze dart over to Nyarai before returning to what lay ahead of them.
If Nyarai was afraid to hunt, then Sanaa would just have to try and help that fear. It was actually a very thrilling activity, Though the killing part was a bit of a downer, letting yourself run as fast as you possibly can. Let your claws taste the dirt as you skim across the Savannah. Why, Would anyone fear such a activity? Though Sanaa could understand, when it was her first hunt she to was frightened... It was just something all Lioness' had to eventually cope with.

Sanaa’s smile seemed to reassure Nyarai that she wasn’t going to get too upset with her. So far everybody she ran into seemed to be doing that, which wasn’t a bad thing. She knew full well that she was always jumpy and paranoid, so being surrounded by people able to calm her down was rather helpful. Sure, it didn’t necessarily change her thoughts immediately, but in the long run it was of great help. Besides, if she was going to walk with someone, at least it was somebody who wasn’t going to bite her head off.
The advice to relax didn’t really mean that much to Nyarai. It was what everybody was always telling her, and she had heard it so much that it had lost just about all meaning one could assign to it. Besides, fear was a natural emotion to have, so wouldn’t it be wrong to try and suppress it? Sure, too much fear was a bad thing, and she tended to have quite a bit, but a little bit wasn’t bad. It made you more alert and ready for action should the need arise. When used right, it was a very helpful emotion to have.
When asked what it was exactly that scared her, Nyarai wasn’t really sure what to say. It wasn’t just a fear of failure or a fear of the hunt; it was a little bit of both really. Obviously she feared failing it since, well, hunting was such an important role for lionesses. They were responsible for getting the food that fed everybody. If they didn’t get food, everyone would starve. So if a lioness couldn’t hunt, they were useless to the pride. As for the hunt herself, she wasn’t too keen on chasing down live animals to kill them. Sure, playfully jumping on a butterfly or something was fine, but when an animal was threatened they fought back, and they fought back hard. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to deal with that fight.
”Uhm, well, it’s a bit of both. I don’t think I have to explain why I would fear failure, but I’m also a little bit afraid of the actual hunt…” she replied, not sure if she keep on and explain exactly why or to just leave it at that.
She then remembered that she had talked to Kovu about it, and that Vitani had offered to help with it. Sanaa was rather nice and might offer to help, but Nyarai didn’t need every lioness out there helping her.
”But I am getting some help with it so don’t worry too much about it,” she hurried to add to her last sentence.
