You're stuck on your character? Me too. Sometimes. So why not a nice little guide to help you on your way to roleplaydom?
If you can't find lineart, don't worry. Just be sure to do the description well.
If you can't find lineart, don't worry. Just be sure to do the description well.
NAME: Most names in The Lion King are something in Swahili. For example, Mufasa means king, Simba means lion, Nala means stem, Werevu means cunning, etc. Why not try out some names with this translator? africanlanguages.com/swahili/
MEANING: This should be fairly easy after using the translator I provided you with.
GOES BY: Most lions go by their name, but nicknames are fine.
OTHER NICKNAMES: Yes, yes, nicknames are fine.
GENDER: Males and females aren't really that different in the Lion King world, but males do tend to be bigger and buffer while lionesses are sleeker, leaner and more suited to hunting. Other than that, no big difference.
AGE: This does have an effect on your character. If you want them to be huge and stuff, they'd be better off being from 3 to 7 years old. After 7, they're pretty much oldies. Cubs are generally from 6 months to a year and a half - before that, they're too young to fend for themselves. After, they're adults.
BIRTHDAY: Just make up a random date unless you want it to have a special impact. For example, I made Werevu's birthday the winter solstice because it seems generally more evil.
PACK: Outlander or Pridelander? Pridelanders don't have to be goody two shoes, and Outlanders don't have to be all the way evil. In fact, a nice Outlander or a mean Pridelander would be a nice change of things, don't you think?
SPECIES: I highly recommend you stick to lions, unless it's a hyena. It stays with the main plot of the Lion King.
STATUS: Unless mating has a big part in your character's life, single is best.
POSTITION: Warrior for male adults, hunter for female adults, cub for all cubs. Unless you want to make up something. Think about your character's personality! What are they most like?
LIVING SITUATION: Only for loners. If you are a loner, however, I suggest you elaborate on this part. Are they really alone? Considering on joining a certain pride? Or on the sidelines, watching? Maybe they're running from something.
HAIR: This is one part for lionnesses, two for lions. Lionesses is the fur and lions is the fur and mane. In lions, the ones with darker manes are healthier. But that's just mechanincs.
EYES: Think of the personality again. The eyes are a gateway to that person deep inside your lion.
HEIGHT: Pretty self explanitory.
WEIGHT: Unless they're like, obese, you shouldn't have a big problem with this.
OVERALL APPEARANCE:
This is a biiiiiiit harder. You have to type up 2 to 4 paragraphs about this, so try to incorporate everything you put above into this: eyes, fur, mane, tail, tassel, underfur, ears. Heck, include their nose. We like to have a description as detailed as possible for us to envision your chracter as clearly as we can!
LIKES: What does your character like? Prey? Certain lions? Warmth? Get creative!
DISLIKES: Same as likes; maybe they dislike swimming or dry things. Or sticky things. I don't like sticky things.
STRENGTHS: This can be mentally or physically. Are they fast? Cunning? Being just plain evil can be a strength.
WEAKNESSES: Are they physically weak? Fearsome? What?
WANTS: Think about your character. What do they really, really want? Maybe for the other pride to cease to exist? To be king or queen?
FEARS: What are they scared of? Everyone has fears. Make it work!
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Okay, here's the good stuff. Their personality! There's so much stuff you can include in this. Their thoughts, demeanor, what they feel in certain situations. Be creative, this is what it all comes down to!
FAMILY:
Family is a bit tricky; you can put the pride if you can't think of anything else. Maybe something happened in their past that you can include with the family. Maybe they don't even know who their family is!
HISTORY: This is optional, but you can include some really good stuff in here. Maybe some stuff that shaped their personality. Ooh, there's a thought.
YOUR NAME: your name/nickname/interwebz name
AGE: your age
^ If you don't know that stuff, there's something wrong ^
EXPERIENCE: RPing for how long?
OTHER CHARACTERS: Do you have any other characters in this RP?

There! Hope that helped with your character's creation. Have fun roleplaying!
