Zula Golden heat waves of sun struck against already sun-baked earth, making it hot to the touch, but not entirely intolerable. The sound of millions of insects filled the air, their tiny wings making the most annoying noise, especially if one was trying to nap. This, as it so happened, was what a certain little brown cub was trying to do. Zula growled, the sound a deep vibration in her throat and chest, as the termites continued to whiz and buzz and tickle her dark ears. Baring her teeth in annoyance, the young lioness sat up and swatted angrily at them, her claws unsheathing as her paw went through the air with little whooshing sounds. ”Stupid bugs!” she growled, dropping down to all fours again as she stared at the little insects with disgust. Suddenly, a larger termite, its weight holding it to the ground, caught her eye and she smirked. Zula lowered herself into a crouch, her dark tail swishing back and forth a bit before-- ”RAWR!” she snarled loudly and jumped on top of the bug, pinning it as she lowed her head to snap it between her fangs with a satisfying crunch. She giggled a bit, amused by her own actions, and looked around for more of the grounded mites, her previous arrangement for a nap completely forgotten.[/blockquote]

Malika, baby;] "ARGH! These stupid termites!" Malika growled out, slashing the bugs in the air. The annoying buzzing was getting to her; and normally, it didn't. Today was just a horrible day. She woke up feeling like crap, and so, the rest of her day was going to be crap. You understand, right? Her crimson red hues peered around the mounds, looking for something entertaining to cheer her up. Was that a cub? Her claws involuntarily unsheathed, the sharpness of them clearly visible to the naked eye. The female cub was playing around with the termites, she noticed. She steadily walked up to her, her annoyance in bugs now gone. Was this Zula? It had to be; she was probably the most playful cub in the Outlands, besides her own son Bakari. "Zula. Shouldn't you be home right now?" She laughed, and her laughing sounded more like a growl, but she couldn't help that. Those eyes peered down at the cub, some sort of motherlyness in them. Hey, all because she was an Outlander doesn't mean she didn't have motherly feelings. Besides, she had a few plans up her sleeve about Zula, but those plans aren't going to be revealed until later on. She watched her pounce on some more termites, her laughing/growl sound still rumbling in her throat.

Zula With more growls of amusement and annoyance, Zula continued to pounce and snap at the little bugs, laughing every time she caught one. The brown cub was about to snap another between her canines when a laughing growl sounded behind her and she whipped around to see Malika, queen of the Outlands. Zula stared at the black lioness for a moment, surprised by her sudden appearance, before shaking her head rapidly a few times to clear it and speaking. "Yeah, probably... but I like to be alone, so I wandered off. Trying to sleep with all those other cubs around is kinda hard." the cub laughed. She growled a little bit as a termite buzzed in her ear and she swatted at it with unsheathed claws. "Though, trying to sleep with all these bugs around isn't exactly easy either. With more annoyed growls and snarls, Zula turned and began to snap at the bugs wizzing around her, her green eyes blazing with irritation.[/blockquote]

Malika. The lioness growled in laughter again, finding the young cub rather cute. Wow. Such a feeling for the intimidating queen, huh? The termites didn't bother her anymore now; she had grown to ignore them. For Scar's sake, they ate them for cryin' out loud. It was their dinner, so why get annoyed? Be grateful for at least having something going down your mouth.
The lioness continued to watch the cub, nodding her head in her response. Afterwards, her head cocked to the side, and continued to laugh when she was swiping at the bugs. "Here, Zula... This is how you do it." One paw, the right one, had its claws unsheathed and with a quick swipe at the air, there was a couple snatched in her weapons. She licked her claws, making sure they were clean, and put her paw back on the ground again. "Well, maybe you should try to sleep in the elephant graveyard. Just make sure those hyenas aren't around." The queen snarled, showing her distaste for the hyenas. Teferi liked them, but she didn't. It was just something about them... Shaking her head, those crimson hues gazed at Zula, like a mother would. "What's going on in the pride, Zula? Anything you need to tell me?" She depended on Zula for information, for anything. The lioness smirked a bit, fangs popping out in a few different spots.
