[glow=red,2,300]Valerius[/glow]
Allegiance: Pridelander
Age:[/i] A young lion, about the age of two.
Gender:[/i] Male
Species:[/i] Lion
History:[/i]
When he was very young, Kovu found Valerius in the Outlands, dying. Deep cuts were in his body, and one of his eyes was swollen shut. He was barely breathing when Kovu made the decision to bring him back to Pride Rock, even though he already had a daughter, Riora.
He has not yet told Kovu, Kiara, or anyone about his haunting past, although it deeply disturbed and troubled him.
Nobody knows who his parents where, what happened to him, or why.
Appearance:[/i]
His pelt is a dark auburn color with hints of russet leading up to his face. He has light beryl green eyes that seem to glow in the dark. His muzzle is pale salmon spotted with dots of silver. When his mane grows in, it will be much darker then the rest of his pelt, even darker then Kovu's mane. Just before his tale, there is a sable brown stripe lined in pure white.
Many scars mar his skin and face, from the time before Kovu found him and took him in. Some are long, some short, many deep. They are unlikely to ever fade completely and they give him a slightly more intimidating look to him, as if he has been through very much, and he has.
His muscle is very lithe and flexible. Ever since he was a cub, he was very quick, much quicker then any cub he met.
Personality:[/i]
Valerius is a very troubled lion and is slightly neurotic. He has rituals that he must follow, or he will fear that something will harm him or his family.
He gets along well enough with most of the lionesses, but he has a sort of rivalry with Riora. He believes that when Kovu and Kiara pass on, he should become the leader of the Pridelands, not Riora, simply because of the fact that he is a male. However, since he is not Kovu's biological son, Kiara and Kovu believe Riora should rule.
He has a tendency of wandering off when he is not allowed to, and exploring well past where Kovu tells him to. This has gotten him in trouble on numerous occasions.
Valerius is not at all ungainly, and is in fact rather graceful. He has never been allowed to hunt, although he practices sneaking up on insects and smaller mammals quite often when nobody is watching.
Nobody has taught him about fighting or hunting, but he watches Kovu and the lionesses very carefully to learn. He wants to become very strong and brave one day. [/size]
