The lithe young lioness glanced around the unfamiliar land, listening to the songs of the birds intently, her tail swaying with the small breeze as the sun beat down. She squinted; "Is that water?" Kitza licked her lips and lied herself down by the waterhole, pawing at a blade of dry grass which was floating across her reflection before she leaned down to quench her thirst. The lone lioness took another precautionary look at her surroundings to be sure that she was safe, then hesitantly resting on her side and stretching her legs. "Ahh... finally; a little bit of peace." She spoke to herself, softly. Her paw tapped to the rhythm she heard constantly in her head. Paranoid still, she continued to glance around. Being just a wanderer, she didn't have any clue where she was. She only knew that it was quiet, and she was content. A collected, calm smile spread across Kizkitza's dainty maw, and she adjusted her paw to place it beneath her chin. The other played in the water.

Kovu, Kingx] The male lion leapt off the last rock of PrideRock. Once on all four paws, he stretched and shook his dark mane. The savannah was the same as ever today; light, calm, beautiful. The sun couldn't get any higher in the sky, and the birds couldn't be chirping any happier. The king smiled to himself, thinking how grateful he should be for taking care such a great land and all of the creatures. Circle of Life, right? He decided to take a stroll around the kingdom. His first idea was to go to the waterhole. With a yawn, he started to walk, steadily, slowly, and keeping his keen emerald eyes scanning the area. You don't know what's out there; trust me, he's been through it already. That's when his emerald eyes caught the site of an unknown lioness.
She was at the waterhole, not too far from him now. His eyebrow cocked up, and growled a bit lowly to himself. He didn't like outsiders in his lands; he didn't know if she/he was a spy or not for the Outlanders, his old home. Cautiously, he padded over to her, his ears up, and his head high. Once he was beside her, he took the risk and sat down, his tail flicking. "Why are you here?" His tone of voice was rather calm, but assertive. His emerald eyes peered down at the lioness, glinting of pride and leadership. He sat there, waiting for her answer, as the bugs and the larger creatures either leapt or flew by them.

Kitza was staring intently at a beetle that was crawling through the tall grass around her. She had just pinned it beneath one of her paws when she heard the rustling of the male making his way toward her. Her attention was drawn to the very authoratative lion, and respectfully, she sat up and turned his direction. She looked him straight in the eye with a friendly sort of gaze, not wishing to cause any trouble. "I was thirsty," Kitza examined the look on his face in response to her slightly vague answer and promptly spoke again, in her cool, gentle sort of way. "Am I intruding? I apologize, I've lost my bearings." Her tail still swayed softly to the sounds of nature around her, giving off an aura that she was neutral; one with everything around her. The sun reflected off her inquisitive light green eyes, and her maw formed itself into a polite smile.

Kovu, Kingx] Kovu nodded, his response to her first statement. He wasn't really mad, as she had a legit excuse. The way she positioned herself was in the gray area. Imagine this world black and white, and when she suddenly came along, there was gray. That was this type of moment. He noticed it; there was no way she could be a spy. She seemed to gentle and heart-warming. The male returned her gaze, his eyes gradually melting from the hardness it once held. "I understand." He chuckled at his tone of voice; so calming to the newcomer. "You're not intruding, so don't apologize. Just be careful around here, that's all." Kovu smiled down at her, his tail occasionally flicking. "If anybody gives you trouble, you can say Kovu gave you permission to walk." Those emerald hues now gave her a friendly glint, a smile forming in them.

Kitza gave Kovu a fullhearted grin and her tail flicked a few times before she spoke. "Thank you, Kovu." A slight look of concern overtook her gentle eyes. "I'm getting vibes from this place that something's wrong. Could you tell me what the problem is?" She had an accent to her voice; it was heavily Ethiopian. Being a newcomer to this land, she wanted to make sure she wasn't stepping into something dangerous - and anyway, if she was, she could attempt to help the situation. The small lioness canted her head slightly, her ear flicking to ward off a bug that was buzzing in it.

Kovy, Kingx] "What is your name?" The male lion already gave out his, and wanted to know hers. Nothing really horrible to ask, hm? His emerald eyes watched hers switch from gentleness to something like concern. When she asked him that question, it took him a while to answer. He considered telling her about the Outlands, but what would she do? How will she react? She wasn't part of his pride, and so, why would it concern her? Finally, the lion gave in. "The problem is the Outlands." He shifted his gaze to the dark shadows beyond the borders of the kingdom. His eyes suddenly grew dark, and he sighed.

She squinted at Kovu, still sizing him up and trying to decide whether or not he was trustworthy. "My name's Kizkitza." The tiny lioness glanced over her shoulder at the shadowy part of the land, then she looked back up at him. "Are you their problem, too?" A bird flew by overhead and distracted her from the conversation for a second as she stared at it and listened to its song. She then promptly returned her attention.

Kovu, Kingx] Kovu growled lowly to himself. Problem? He was here to protect his kingdom, and if anything, if he was the problem, then so be it. He took in her name, and nodded, his gaze shifting back to the Outlands. The sunlight seeped itself through his dark fur and mane, reaching his skin. He suddenly got a bit hot, as he was thinking about the "problem." "We're only a problem if they continue to be our problem." Once he peered back down at her, his emerald eyes were gleaming under the sunlight. His muscles tensed up a bit, and he didn't know why. Slowly, he stood up, and stretched out his limbs. Kovu stifled a yawn, and his tail flicking left to right.

Kitza shifted a bit, and stared him very inquisitively in the eye. "What have they done to you?" As she spoke, she gestured toward the Outlands and then nodded her head toward him to signify the 'you.' If she was going to be wandering around here, she wanted the low-down on what was going on, of course. She also wanted to see if she could help the cause. When will the world learn that we're all one? She shook her head discretely at her thoughts and at the ignorance of the others, whatever the problem may be.

Kovu, Kingx] Kovu sighed a bit, and considered to sat down. His tail flicked, and his ears were twitching, telling the lioness that he was listening. He stayed quiet and allowed the scenes to play in his head. Kiara, the last battle, everything. After gazing at the Outlands for a few moments, he turned his attention back to her. "Everything was fine. We were together, until they decided to seek out revenge." Kovu peered down at his dark fur, quite unusual for a dark lion to be roaming the Pridelands, and he shifted his hues back to the Outlands, his old home. Without looking at her, but his tone of voice a bit friendly, he added, "How long are you staying?"

She glanced back at the Outlands and her tail made circles in the air, as she shifted her position slightly and listened intently to what Kovu had to say. Kitza nodded understandingly and crossed her front paws. "I'm not too sure. We'll have to see where the wind blows me next."A small smile crossed her maw, and her serene eyes surveyed everything around her once again. She was most likely going to stick around long enough to find out exactly what's going on here and see how she can affect it as subtly as she could.
