Ami found herself being towered by long grasses, which seem to hide her perfectly. Something that would defiantly be a perfect place to hide and/or stalk something. But even if she found such a great place to do so, she found it hard to find a way out of it. These grasses seemed endless, and it didn't take long to get long. Actually this was like a exploration, she only imagined it was endless, when she could easily find her way out. The one year old lion cub gave a smirk as she saw a small rodent start to make itself known. It was placed directly in front of her, trying to find it's own way out of the grass.
This, was her chance. She would be a great hunter one day, she just knew it. Ami imagined herself showing off as she took down a big Buffalo flawlessly, she would do it by herself to! She gave a chuckle as she crept forward. Yes me, the greatest hunter ever, she thought. Then she made one stupid mistake, she didn't watch where she stepped. And she happened to step on a twig, which she believed came out of no where, when it was right there in plain view. The small mouse let out a squeak before it fled.
"Awww," Ami gave a moan, then sighed. That was her only chance, well for today anyway, she could have just taken her first step to being great. "Well... Guess I gotta find something else to chase," she said, sitting down in the tall grasses and thinking a bit. She had already went to get some water, and she had already attempted to fight a bush with a lot of thorns on it, the evidence to her lost was one sharp thorn sticking out of her ear, but she seem oblivious to it.
"Hm," she looked around. Of course nothing interesting caught her attention, hardly anything does. "Hm, maybe I could go a little farther..." she muttered after taking a first step out of the grass and gazing at the distance. "It maybe be dangerous though... But maybe if I checked it out a bit, maybe it's not as dangerous as the adults say..." A smile appeared on her features as thought up of a idea.

"I wouldn't go there." Came a young male voice as a cub stepped out of the bushes, his black and brown fur glowing in the sunlight. "The adults will be mad if you go alone." He walked up to the other cub. "That's why I'll go with you" He smiled and chuckled.
"The name's Razi." He introduced himself as he stepped closer to the cub. He hadn't gone very far eaither, but he didn't want to seam scared infront of this cute cub. They would only go a little farther. Not to much.

"Oh," she said in surprise, turning her head to the direction of the male cub. He was a both a brown and black color, with odd looking scar-like mark marks on his eye. He looked pretty interesting, and about the same age as her.
"I'm Ami," she said with a smile. He seemed like a nice guy, and quite nice looking as well. "Nice to meet you," she said before turning her head to look out in the distance. Ami grew a bit excited when she heard him say he would go out farther with her. A small exploration wouldn't be fun without a friend coming along, right?
"Okay then, I'll take the lead," she said, getting up and starting to walk, glancing behind her to make sure he was following. "I hope you can keep up!" She said in a challenging way.

Razi let out a chuckle and lowered himself in a pounceing position, his chest almost touching the ground as his backside was raised. "We will see about that!" he pounced and began running, more like hopping, twards the direction that Ami was walking.
Razi let out a playful growl as he rushed past her, making their walk a little further, into a pranceing run more than a little further. Ami glowed in the sunlight which made Razi's ears burn slightly. She was cute and kind. He could tell they were going to be great friends. Or atleast he hoped so.

"Hey!" Ami said in surprise as she watched him run right past her. Making herself start to run a little faster she managed to catch up with him, but still he was able to run faster then her. Stubborn to the idea she was losing she was more determined then ever to get past him.
"I'm going to win!" She said with a laugh. This wasn't even a race, but it felt lie it to Ami, she was having a lot of fun now for some reason. She decided to maybe stop for now, they were a little far away from the waterhole now.
"Hey Razi, let's stop here for a minute!" Ami sat down next to a log, it was big and dry, mostly because it was obviously the dry season, and she got easily tired when it was this hot. She looked around for a moment.
"I wonder what it would be like to really go out far, I mean alone. Think it would be scary?" As she said this she started to climb up the log, the dry wood creaked each paw step she took, she had to unsheathe her claws just to get a grip on it. When she made it to the top she squinted her eyes to see if she could get a better view.

Razi could hear the cub behind him, trying to catch up witch made him go faster. They were laughing and having a good time when Ami asked to stop. Razi skidded to a stop, a little dissapointed that they couldn't comtinue their race. She asked him if it would be scary further ahead. It made Razi think of his past a little bit, which he never really did.
"Well. I don't need to wonder. I know it does get scary in the outlands." He said. From where they were, they could juist barely see the Outlands where he was taken half a year ago. Cub napped and rescued by his parents who died saving him.

"It gets scary in the outlands?" She said, tilting her head. Ami heard stories of the outlands many of times. They said it was filled with a bunch of bad lions, with evil intentions. Ami didn't believe this all, there had to be a good lion or two out there. Maybe her mother just told her so she could be scared or something.
"Wait how do you know?" She asked curiously, being careful to jump off the log. Landing on her fours, she paused for a moment before walking towards Razi. "Have you been there?" Ami looked at his expression before looking out in the distance. The land there look barren, more dry looking then here. The grass was a tan color, matching her fur perfectly, and was dry. Each paw step she took it made a crunching noise, like when you gnaw on a bone and managed to break it.
Sniffing the air a bit, she gave a smile. "Do you smell that?" It was her mother of course, and she had something to eat, perfect! "It's my mother, I think she has something for us to eat," she informed. Ami looked around until she saw the distance figure of a lion, and she knew automatically it was her mom, and she had something in her mouth. It looked like a baby warthog thing, she only ate one of those before.
"Are you hungry?" She asked as she walked past Razi, and toward her mother who was sitting down, waiting for the two.

Razi knew he shouldn't had spoken about going there. He was thinking quickly about what to say, stuttering over his words. He was relived when Ami's mother had appeard with something to eat. He shook his dark fur and looked over the food with hungry brown eyes.
"You bet I'm Hungry!" He pipped up and bounded after her. They got to her mother and Razi dipped his head with respect. "Hello." He smiled at Ami's mother. She was really pretty. Razi knew where Ami got her looks from.

Ami's mother was much bigger then them, but had some of the same characteristics of Ami. The fur, the green eyes, she almost looked like a older version of Ami.
"Well hello Razi," Ami's mother said, giving a nod. Ami was surprised on how her mother knew Razi's name, but it then dawned on her that she most likely knew all the cubs in the pride, it was not at all hard for her to remember a name. Ami's gaze turned from her mothers face to the baby warthog lying on the ground, obviously dead.
"Wow, how did you catch it?" Ami asked her mother taking a step toward the carcass.
"I chased it, and killed it," her mother said in the most simplest way possible. Ami looked a bit embarrassed to have asked such a stupid question, she didn't ask anymore question toward that subject, even though she would have loved details. Looking over toward Razi and then Ami, her mother gave a smirk.
"I guess you two are getting acquainted with each other I see," she said.
"Yep, Razi is my new friend, right Razi?" Before she could answer, Ami's mother turned her head toward the priderock.
"I'm sorry you two, I have to go right now, don't go any farther then where you are now. And Razi," she added. "Make sure to protect Ami, she's delicate you know." And then she walked away, leaving them to eat alone.
"I'm not that delicate," she said, giving a stubborn look. "I can always take care of myself..." Ami's attention then turned to the warthog they were left with, it was the perfect size for the two. Ami gave a playful growl and pounced on it, biting at the skin and tugging. She couldn't manage to rip it though, but continued to do her best, even if she needed help right about now.
