► Creature of the Night ◄***Werevu leapt to the top of the highest rock in the clearing and roared, calling all Outlanders to where he was. He was sure they'd approve of the plan now, with the speech he was prepared to give; how could they not? They wanted the Pridelands...And they would want it now.
"Outlanders!" he yowled with conviction. "You all know of the Pridelanders! You know of their treacherous prejudices, their sickening beliefs and their wide expanses of land!" He paused and looked down at them, gaze casting a look of anger and determination that no lion could refuse to look at. "And you know of our troubles! No food other than termites! Small amounts of land, and not enough of anything to support us!" His fur was bristling, letting his anger show through. "You also know that our current king and queen, Teferi and Malika, either refuse to acknowledge our suffering or are too incapable to do anything about it!"
Werevu took a moment to let his words sink into his listener's minds and continued. "So me and Kamau have thought of a plan!" he exclaimed, casting a look at the lioness. "Kamau has won Vitani's trust. She will ask to join the Pridelanders. During the commotion she'd be making, we will sneak into the Pridelands and surround them! The blundering idiots won't know what hit them!" He could taste the sweet victory on his tongue as easily as the conniving words flowed out of his mouth. "And then we will have land, and shelter for our cubs! We will have everything we need to survive!" He paused again and looked down at his pride convincingly.
"We will live again!"***

Luna stepped back and smiled down at her most recent masterpiece, the moon drawn in the blood of the crocoldile who had dared to attack her. Most would say she was lucky to survive, never mind kill the beast, but if such comment was made aloud she would laugh and tell them just what she believed- that it was not luck but skill. She spent so much time practicing everything when it came to fighting and killing that it was second nature to her, it was a part of her. Her smile was that of a demon, dark and filled with thirst for blood and she ripped the flesh from the carcass with glee for any meat was better than none at all and in this slimate it could not be let go to waste for food was rare on this side of the river and it was one of the many things that p*ssed her off about being outcasted by them. She had done nothing wrong, merely given what had been requested and still they had banished her. The grey and white female was still sour about being outcasted, despite it having been months ago and now every fibre of her being despised the fools which ran pride rock. How had she not seen their idiocity? How had she managed to overlook how very foolish the king and queen of the pridelands were? But ever mind that, she would get her revenge. One day she would show them, she decided, and she kept devouring the carcass strip by strip. She was getting full when she heard the voice and she licked the gore from around her mouth, black-rimmed ears flattening against her skull as she moved toward the outrock with eyes glittering to see the male who stood so bravely, speaking against the royals of this pride and she found that she agreed. They could not waste any more time going hungry when there was much more food over the river for them to eat, and safer places to eat and train. "He's right," she announced, making one of her rare moves into the group, something which she rarely did and she found her red eyes raking the crowd for a cub. Any cub would do so long as it was strong. She wanted to train one, to show them all she knew about the world, to make them see the joys they would find as a warrior, but it was not to be , there was not a single cub among them. She sighed, and found her warm breath blowing at her dark grey hair, the rough-textured strands blowing and then her red eyes set upon Werevu again. "We as a group have suffered long enough and if the king and queen can't sort it out we'll have to take matters into our own hands. Together, we can defeat the pridelanders and take places in the lands which are rightfully born their. They cast us out because we are different, they sneer at us, they think of themselves as better, but we can change that. We must change that if ever we are to be free from suffering again." she walked forwards to Werevu and smirked before looking back to the crown for a second and leaping onto the rock, standing behind Werevu. If he was fighting for their rights she was with him.

Cool, calm, collected Kamau stood tall beside Werevu, roaring and growling in agreement to get the Outlanders hyped up. After her accomplice spoke, so did she.
"Now is the time! Here we sit and here we have been sitting, impoverished, cold, deprived, while the Pridelands bask in the sunshine and have all the prey they can ask for. We can wait, starving and miserable no longer for our leaders to rouse us into action! We must take action ourselves and take back what is our's! Malika and Teferi are doing nothing for our pride!" Kamau let a snarl escape her lips. "Follow our lead and soon we will have all we need - the food, the shelter, the land, as Werevu said..." She glanced over to the aforementioned lion, slightly with a look of pride and cunning about her face, "... And the satisfaction of knowing that those who betrayed us will spend eternity in the stars." Kamau's breathing calmed, and as soon as it did, she emitted a loud roar, just to keep the attention of the pride. "Who's with us?" As the sun melted in the sky, she prepared herself to do a little acting, a little work as a diplomat. Her heavy-lidded icy blue eyes scanned the Outlands, sifting through every face and taking a head count of every lion that seemed to agree. Kamau had friends here; she grew up with them, she had never disrespected her fellow pride members. Surely they'd follow. To young, vicious Luna, she smirked, nodding her head deeply. "Glad to have you on board."

Werevu looked in surprise as Luna stepped up and spoke in favor of him. Rarely did she do such things, usually prefering to spend her time drawing things in blood. He agreed with her words, strongly given and backed with pride for being an Outlander and the hate that all Outlanders possessed. She almost never gave a long speech like that, and he grinned inwardly to her approval. He gave a nod to her as she leapt to the rock behind him, feeling a small bit of pleasure at the approval. With Luna, others would come. He knew it. He waited expectantly for more.
Finally, Kamau spoke too and sat beside him. Once again, Werevu smiled in slight smugness and pride in what he was about to achieve, for it would change the very fabrics of their lives. He also glimpsed a shot of the future; Teferi and Malika, overthrown by his followers. Him rising to power. He unsheathed and sheathed his claws, the rough nails scraping against stone. No more would be be taunted by Malika or shunned by the idiotic Teferi; they would be dealt with soon enough. First came his pride.***

Luna felt from the heart everything she had said and felt good for having said it. This pride needed a leader who would make things right for them, not sit around while misjustice played it's course as the current leaders. She had had enough of sitting around waiting for something to happen because it was becoming more and more apparent that nothing was happening, nothing at all. But what could be said if nothing was done? Someone had to make a stand and she would be one of those who did. She didn't care if the royals disliked them for it, they should have seen to the problems earlier. The grey lioness listened intently to the speech of the other lioness, who she knew to be called Kamau and found herself smiling even more than she had when she'd been eating the carcass of the crocodile and the warrior found herself lusting for the blood of pridelanders. They did not deserve their happiness, they did not deserve the lands they owned. They could not even show common courtesy. She, like so many others, had been outcast for something she hadn't done and she wasn't going to let it just wash over her. "Glad to be here," she replied in dark tones, auds twitching as she listened to the sounds, tassel flicking irratably, the reminder of all the wrongs the pridelanders had done making her blood boil. oh how she wanted to make them pay, to make them beg her for death just so she could deny it. Death was to kidn for the likes of them, they deserved nothing but misery and suffering as they had condemned her and all of the other outsiders to. Luna knew she would rather be a member under Werevu than she was Malika and Teferi, he had sese. He sometimes walked the night like her and so understood it's mystery. She was sure he would not shun her as they had, that he would accept a fighter for what she was. She knew he would not sneer because of her scarred pelt which had once been so perfect. She knew under him she'd be that bit happier and, if they uceeded in their attack on pridelands she would be much, much happier.

Kimyaa listened in silence and disgust as Werevu spoke such hogwash.
How dare he! Speaking of the pridelanders in such a horrible tone! A disgrace to me, at least. I'll show him! And Kamaru as well! She thought to herself, sneaking through the shadows as she always did. Kimyaa came to Werevu as he stood there, Kawaru by his side. She crouched up, ready to pounce on her unsuspecting victim.. ..In which she did, landing her paws right infront of him, she spoke, "How dare you, Werevu! How could you talk of them in such a way!? Why am I always the only one who thinks otherwise!?" She sreamed, her bright eyes gleaming, her pitch-black fur pristling, showing extreme anger. Kimya swatted her paw infront of his nose, her claws unseathed. "You will answer to me, you pathetic excuse for a lion!" She yowled with a hiss. Oh, was she furious!

► Creature of the Night ◄***Werevu found himself pounced on by something small and furry. He turned around and saw Kimyaa, spitting furiously at him. He narrowed his eyes at her as she finished, her fur bristling indigantly and eyes showing raw hate. He disliked Kimyaa so very much; her demeanor, her ways, everything. He would take care of her soon....But for now, he had to show this cub who was who. He gripped her by the scruff with his teeth and leapt down to the ground, setting her down in front of him with a thud. He gave her a look of barely restrainted fury, eyes burning a hole into the insolent kit as he drew his teeth back into a most fearsome snarl that even an alligator would shrink away from. That alligators have shrunk away from. Then he began to speak.
"You, insolent little cub, are the only one who thinks that way because you are the only one who thinks wrongly." He spat the words out as if they were rotting flesh. "The Pridelanders you speak so fondly of are the ones who drove us here, in this hellish pit. Why would you defend them!?" This time he spoke with more vigor, every word flying out like a blow to the jaw. "The only thing the Pridelanders have done for us is bring us pain! Torture! They deserve what will be coming to them soon enough." He looked at her considerately and glanced back to Luna, who was searching the crowd. He had always known she wanted to train a cub, and this one was as good as any, if better. "Your opinions are diluted," he said. "Luna will be more than happy to set them straight for you."***

Kimya's earsdipped back in fright and disgust, while her eyes widenened in horror. Her legs began to tremble, as the words he screeched rolled through her mind. "And yet, you are the one who brings me torture, you imbecil! Why kill of the future while you sulk in the past!? There is a reason that the Pridelands have done so! Can you not thing logically, Werevu? Don't you see why the others act so horrid? Because they all listen to YOU! I will never return! I do not belong here, and Luna can never take me!" Kimya screamed with tears rolling down her face, she bolted away from him, not forgetting to leave a nasty scar on his shoulder before she left.
They act as if I am their slave.. I may have been born here, but we are no different from the Pridelanders! We are, to magnificant! She thought as she padded swiftly through the prairies that were the Outlands.
"You all look at the glass half empty you idiots!" She screeched, one last time, making sure to let out an ear splitting cry, along with her bone chilling cold aura.

► Creature of the Night ◄***Werevu snorted with sudden amusement as the young cub burst out in tears, shaking and yelling at him all the same. Oh, the insolence of cubs. He wished they didn't exist. And as Kimyaa dashed away in fear and anger, he shook his head in what was almost pity. He knew that cub wasn't right from the minute she had stepped into his life, and now with the ear-splitting shriek she emitted from afar, his theories were affirmed. He looked back to his followers nervously, uncertain if the episode had swayed them in the least bit. Without a word, he flicked his tail and leapt up to the highest rock once again, letting loose a ferocious roar sure to be heard from where Kimya was, if not farther. He roared once more, and leapt from the rock, tail flicking for his newly found followers to come. There was much planning to do, and none of it involved an insolent, insane cub. And if she chose to defend the Pridelanders, so be it...She wouldn't last long anyway.***

Kamau stared on as the cub attempted to beat on Werevu. She kept a blank expression, until the ball of fluff and tears stormed off. Then, she laughed her ass off. "Hahaha! Aaawh, did you hear her?! How's she gonna go about calling herself an Outlander? Haaaa!" Kamau shook her head and attempted to wipe the grin off her face, her laughter dying down. Cubs these days! Back to business, Kamau.
Heavy-lidded eyes turned to Werevu and Luna. "What now? Shall I go to Pride Rock and let the diplomacy begin?" Kamau was confident. She felt that the three strong lions could at least take down the royal Pridelanders, and although they could always use more followers, they could definitely make due with these. She shot Werevu a sort of... flirty look and then regained her businesslike composure.

The grey ess had bee sat quite happily behind Werevu, waiting for the fun begin when, from nowhere, it came. A flying black cub. Within seconds of seeing the creature a sick, malicious smirk crossed her features and red eyes glanced to Werevu, waiting to see how he'd react to the feisty critter. She was, after all, rather amusing in her way but her lack of respect for her elders was... dissappointing to say the least. "How dare you, Werevu! How could you talk of them in such a way!? Why am I always the only one who thinks otherwise!?" looking down at the cub she snickered, shaking her head. This youngster was going to get herself into deep trouble if she carried this on, especially if Werevu got his way. Alot of lions would find themselves in trouble if Werevu got his way. "You will answer to me, you pathetic excuse for a lion!" She rolled her eyes and shifted position slightly so she could see the feisty youngser. She wasn't the strongest of cubs but then again, training could change that. After all, every cub needed someone to look after them and this youngster reminded her alot of her childhood crush. Maybe she should have acted on things with him back then, but now was not the time for such talk. "You, cub, remind me of that pathetic excuse of an outsider, Jabali. He won't act but at least he knows the pridelanders are scum. You, miss, have a lot to learn." she sneered at the cub, audits lay flat against her skull. Where did this cub get her mannors? She really ought to go back for a refund. "You, insolent little cub, are the only one who thinks that way because you are the only one who thinks wrongly. The Pridelanders you speak so fondly of are the ones who drove us here, in this hellish pit. Why would you defend them!? The only thing the Pridelanders have done for us is bring us pain! Torture! They deserve what will be coming to them soon enough. Your opinions are diluted, Luna will be more than happy to set them straight for you." Luna smiled at Werevu's speech, once again glad that he was so smart. He knew what the outsiders needed to hear and now he had two of the most feared lionesses on his side they would soon have great numbers. But, best of all, he'd just handed her a student on a silver platter and Luna could be cruel if she thought she needed to be. She leapt from the rock and stared down at the black beast, laughing. "It would be my pleasure, Werevu." she told him as, once more, the shadow creature started her rant. I do not belong here, and Luna can never take me!" Luna laughed, looking at the gash in Werevu's shoulder and back to the cub. "Sounds like a challenge." she watched the cub scampering away, her tiny legs making the journey slow and she shook her head. "I'll catch her, Werevu, if it is what you wish."

► Creature of the Night ◄***Werevu snorted as the last of the cub disappeared and turned to Kamau as she began to speak.
"What now? Shall I go to Pride Rock and let the diplomacy begin?"
Werevu considered this and nodded. "Yes, that will give us plenty of time. Thank you, Kamau." He then looked at Luna as she began to speak.
"I'll catch her, Werevu, if it is what you wish."
Werevu smiled at the clear loyalty that existed already between him and his new followers. "Only if that is what you want, Luna. I'm sure that if you did, you would be able to turn her into a truly fearsome fighter." And that wasn't a lie. Werevu knew how ruthlessly Luna fought, how the anger in her truly blossomed when she was in the heat of battle. He couldn't have asked for a better lion on his side; he, of all lions, felt respect for her. He, Werevu, the one who was stronger than most anyone, including Teferi. This will work, he thought with a sneer.
And it was time to prepare; his claws could do with some sharpening. With that, he headed down to the Elephant Graveyard, the wicked smile still plastered onto his face.***

Kamau dipped her head to her comrades and turned - but not before nudging Werevu on the paw softly with the back of her own much smaller paw. She made a point of making eye contact with both him and Luna before slinking off of the Outrock, her hourglass form seen drifting toward the sunlight-washed Pride Rock.
"I'll see you at sundown, then." She didn't look back when she spoke, but her cunning tone could be heard from where they were. A smirk slowly spread itself across her maw and a growl escaped her lips, low-lidded eyes set intently on her destination as she thought of what she would say. Here comes trouble. This was Kamau's day, the day she'd been waiting for since her mother was killed and her best friend left her. The day of revenge.
