Vitani Vitani leaped onto the pile of rocks leading to the PrideRock and climbed, finding herself atop the giant rock jutting out over the Pridelands. Looking back to make sure Slythor was behind her, she bounded into the den and turned. The sun was sinking, seeming to rest on PrideRock. The emotion it was named for, pride, swelled in her chest until she thought she would burst. This was where she was now. This was her home. Peering around the rock to see Slythor lingering on the edge, she said, "Come in. I'm not going to eat you."

Slythor slowly followed Vitani, being very cautious. He didn't know about the other lions here, but he was sure to be careful. When he saw the fall upon the rock he was on now, he jumped at the sight and took the time to stare at it quietly. It was such a beautiful ight. It warmed his fur just by watching. It was one of the most breathtaking things he had ever seen in his travels. He was only stunned for a moment until he heard Vitani's voice.
Oh! He had forgotten. "You have a beautiful home." He whispered softly to her as he walked towards her. He hoped he wouldn't be taken wrongly. "Is this what you wanted to show me?" He asked calmly, looking around curiously, in awe. He would love to stay here for a while.

Valerius
Valerius started at the sight of an outsider at Pride Rock. He'd never seen him before, and hadn't at first noticed Vitani with him. Hs fur stood up and he let out an involuntary snarl. He darted forward noiselessly, about to pounce, but stopped short when he saw Vitani with him, not looking in the least bit alarmed.
"Who is this..outsider? Where is he from?" he asked, remaining several feet away from him, facing both lions. He learned he should never turn his back on an unknown lion from his sister, Riora, and he would follow that advice strongly.
Valerius noticed the metal band around the outsiders neck, his tracking collar (ooc: Valerius doesn't know thats what it is, btw). He'd never seen anything like that before, and it made him wary.
"What is that..thing...around your neck?

Kiara had been napping in the den area when voices caught her attention. That seemed to happen all too often lately as she slowly stood, stretched, and padded out into the open. She gazed momentarily at the setting sun and smiled to herself. So often, her and Kovu would come out here and watch the sun set together, though they hadn't done that at all since the death of her parents, which brought a pang of sadness to her heart. She missed them a lot and only wished she could have just one more moment with them, just to smell their fur once more... to feel their warm hugs once more... she fought back tears at the very thoughts that came through her mind... the thoughts she would never have that from them again.
Clearing her throat audibly, she padded over to Vitani. "Might I ask what is going on here?" Her queenly duties were to keep an eye on any who trespass and make sure the pride stayed safe, and she wasn't about to let anyone near the den or near her cubs unless she was sure about them. Her voice wasn't threatening... it was her everyday voice... calm, almost chipper. She smiled and waited.[/blockquote]

Kovu, King babyx] The chirping of the evening birds echoed across the Savannah, and the sun was starting to set upon the lands. The very dimmed sunlight peered again into the den, stirring Kovu, but not enough to wake up. In fact, the thing that made his eyes slowly upon was the morons outside being loud, and his beloved Kiara getting up. Grumbling, he watched as Kiara slowly padded outside. Should he go? With his head upon his front paws, he decided he'd wait for a few moments... ... ... ... She did not come back in. Grumbling louder, Kovu stood. Strong and tall, he started to shake his fur and mane loosely. The tail that was his only rose up, high, flicking. Slowly, showing much sleepiness, he padded outside. The dimmed sunlight peered into his emerald eyes, like it was seeing inside his soul. Nevertheless, the shadows of four creatures stood before him. When his eyes adjusted to the light, he saw Kiara, Valerius, his sister Vitani, and some outsider. Outsider? Growling low, his emerald eyes steadily became slits, making him appear more intimidating. This was his kingdom, and he did not like trespassers without an invitation. Did he know? No, he did not. Peering over to Kiara, he padded up to her, and gave her a quick, but still loving, nuzzle. He noticed that her voice was rather calm, even before this... newcomer. Vitani seemed happy, but Valerius looked just like Kovu; confused and distrusting. Kovu's emerald eyes locked onto the newcomer, then peered over to Vitani.
"Vitani, who is this and why did you allow him up here?" he mumbled, letting out a low growl. He was a male, for starters. Secondly, Kovu did not know who he was, or what he wanted. All he could be was a spy for Teferi, the King of the Outlands. Still, he kept glaring at Vitani, but his growl faded away. Kovu remained tall, and strong, his muscles as tense as ever. Also, he remained by Kiara's side, making it clear that she was his. Kovu then looked at Valerius, and cocked his head, telling him to come near him at once.
Those emerald hues then now stared at the newcomer, searching him. He seemed... weak. Not a mad weak, but more like malnourished. He also looked like he didn't have shelter, or any family. The strangest thing was that he had a... thing around his neck. What was that? Kovu shook his head, but barely making any notice. Kovu wanted the newcomer to speak up, and he also wanted Vitani's explanation. This was going to be rather interesting.

Vitani Vitani met Kovu's icy stare. She could somewhat understand his anger at her for bringing an outsider into PrideRock, but he seemed incredibly interesting, not to mention harmless. Timid, even, she thought, turning to observe Slythor. He seemed overwhelmed by the amount of lions giving him hostile, questioning stares. His fur was bristling slightly, giving him the appearance that he was even bigger than he was already. "As if he needs any of that," Vitani thought. She turned her attention back to Kovu and the others. They looked angrier and angrier the longer she waited to explain Slythor. They probably thought he was some sort of spy, waiting for his fellow Outlanders to ambush them at this very second. "Yeah, right," she thought. "He couldn't ambush a meerkat."Vitani took a breath, and dove into explanation. "I found Chava playing near the river filled with crocodiles, the one where you and Kiara first met." She searched for Kovu's eyes for any emotion, but they betrayed none. "I began to take her home, but Malika leapt out from the undergrowth and surprised us. She started talking big when Kira came. Then Malika started throwing insults everywhere, which is where he comes in." She gestured towards Slythor. "He ran right into her, and started apologizing left and right, which she just got more angry at. Then she threatened Chava, and that's when I pounced on her and gave her a scratch she won't forget. But right before she left, she got me in the face." Vitani licked her paw and drew it over her wound. "I noticed he had a little thing around his neck, and that he looked as if he never hunted, let alone fight, in his life. So I thought he could tell us a thing or two about what he was doing. And," she said, shooting a look back at him, "Why he was in our territory."

"Well... I can't explain the thing around my neck very much... I remember that some strange, naked lions that stood on two long legs and had long front paws had put it on me. It doesn't hurt and doesn't being any trouble." Slythor tried to explain the collar, and the lions he met as a cub. The king and queen were here now, and many lions looked about ready to make a buffalo out of him. He really started thinking it was a bad idea to agree to coming out here.
"I..I'm Slythor. I have no pride, I just wander around. If you don't want me here, I'll go in a few days. All I wish is some temporary shelter and maybe some food." He spoke softly. "I'm no spy for anyone... Vitani is right. I was just finishing off a meal of warthog when I heard commotion.. I ran into another lioness that nearly took my nose off." He rushed, trying to speak and explain quickly before the lions lost their patience. He knew from experience that taking too long really was never a good idea.
He was very much scared. If need be he could run pretty fast and hide well despite his size, so he could do that if they decided he wasn't wanted. "I want no trouble. I won't take your lionesses, harm your cubs, spy, nothing." He tried to explain, trying to seem as harmless as possible.

Kovu, Kingbabyx] Kovu nodded, as Vitani explained what had happened. Malika? She never dared to come out like that. What did she turn into? Yes, Kovu remembered her, as she was his mother's best friend. She was just as dark as Zira, and refused to join the Pridelands. Shaking his head slowly, the glare that he was giving Vitani slowly melted away. Those emerald orbs became soft and calm once more. With a sleepy yawn, he finally bent low and stretched out his front legs' limps, and his paws stretched out wide. Claws extracted, and then re-tracted. This was just the whole part of stretching.
When Vitani said Malika had slashed her, he growled lowly. Nobody hurts his sister, not a soul. He peered at the scuffle on her face, irritation streaming in his blood. However, he ignored the irritation, and smiled when Vitani gave him a look back. Oh, the wonderful part about having a sibling; the fighting. This amused Kovu, and he stepped forward. What would he decide? Should he let the outsider stay, or release him? Kovu had to think for a few moments, but before he could do such a thing, his giant paws steadily padded towards Vitani. With a small smile on his face, he nuzzled the spot where she had been hurt. With a whisper, that only she could hear, he said, "Don't worry... She will get hers." After those words, he took a step back, so he was in front of Vitani, Kiara behind him, Valerius to his left and the newcomer to his right, Slythor.
Nodding a bit, he went into deep thought. What would Simba do? Would he let him stay? Simba gave Kovu his own shot, to be a part of this wonderful life. So, in return, he would also give this newcomer a temporary home. Standing tall and strong again, tail flicking, he peered towards Valerius, and his eyes reassured him that everything will be okay. With that expressive sign, he looked at Slythor, and said, a bit loud, "You can stay... for now." Once that was said, he turned, and went back to his rightful place next Kiara. Once he was there, he sat down, with his head a little high. He stared at Vitani, and he trusted her. He trusted her with his life. Nevertheless, this was her responsibility. If anything happened to Slythor, it was her fault. Nodding at this, he watched the other lionesses and the male lion that stood before him.

Valerius Valerius slowly backed away towards Kovu, not turning away from the outsider, seeing his motion. He didn't like meeting new people; it made him extremely suspicious and uncomfortable. He was especially wary of this new fellow, because of his strange story. "Naked lions...? Kovu and Kiara never mentioned anything like that before...and I've never seen them...how can they be real?" He noted to himself to keep a close eye on this newcomer. Valerius naturally felt agitated over Slythor, simply for the fact that he was a male. Even if he said he wouldn't try anything, how could it be known that he was trustworthy? He flinched when Kovu said that Slythor would be allowed to stay for now. He knew he probably wouldn't be getting any sleep for a few days, keeping watch over his family.

Slythor tipped his head low in a thanks to the king. "thank you. I promise not to disturb your pride." He spoke quietly. He glanced at the other male lion, looking at him with suspicion. He sighed softly and looked at the male. "If you want to know anything about me, I'll be wandering your territory for the next few days. I'll leave no scent markings, but it should be pretty easy to find me. Thank you for your time." He bowed again and gave a shy smile to a few lionesses before hopping off Pride Rock. He had a feeling he wasn't exactly welcome there.
